Please note that we are currently closed for the season and we will be open on July 1, 2020.

We are accepting reservations for the rest of the camping season – please go to our Reservation Page and fill in your information and we’ll get back to you with a confirmation. We will not be accepting Credit Card deposits until we know when we will be open – know that there will be no penalty if you need to cancel due to changing travel restrictions.

We miss all of our campers and can’t wait until we can open our doors to you again this summer!

2020 Dates – Opening Day is Wednesday, July 1 and we’ll remain open through to Monday, September 7th.


If you are looking for full-service camping in the heart Halifax – you’ve found it! Nestled in a unique park setting, surrounded by 2 lakes and the historic Shubenacadie canal Shubie Park Campground is your gateway for urban exploration.

No other campground in Nova Scotia offers you the ability to connect to downtown Halifax as quickly as we can while providing you with a full camping experience. When you are not exploring our beautiful city you can relax at the campground, take a dip in the lake, play a game of tennis on our court, enjoy a stroll through the 75 acre park at our doorstep or just sit by the fire pit and enjoy.

Shubie Park Campground prides itself in providing exceptionally clean washroom facilities, lovely gardens, a safe and secure campground (on-site manager and 24 hour security) as well as friendly and helpful staff, all aimed at making your camping experience the best it can be.

Here’s a rundown of all of our amenities:

  • 72 Serviced sites,  62 with 2 services (water and electricity) and 5 with 3 services (power, water and sewer).
  • 27 Unserviced tent sites (water taps are available close by)

  • Really clean washrooms with coin-operated showers ($1/4 mins)

  • Basic Wifi – It’s free! (please note that it is stronger closer to the main office) – if you are looking to be “off the grid” i.e. where the wifi isn’t as strong – our back sites may be best for you!  If you are looking to enjoy your Netflix fix – you may want to download your movies in advance! 🙂

  • Un-serviced Tent Site: $38.00 (tents only)

15 Amp Sites

  • 15 amp & water: $44.00

30 Amp Sites

  • 30 amp & water: $48.00
  • 30 amp pull thru & water: $50.00
  • 30 amp 3-way (power, water & sewer): $57.00

50 Amp Sites

  • 50 amp & water: $50.00
  • 50 amp pull thru & water: $52.00
  • 50 amp 3-way (power, water & sewer): $59.00


  • Yurt (water & power): $75.00 (two-night minimum over Weekends – three-night minimum for Long Weekends)


Payment & Additional Rates:

We accept Visa & Mastercard. A deposit is required to make a reservation.

For Debit or Cash payments, please call us to arrange for a deposit.

Daily rates are per family (2 adults & up to 3 children)

Additional person(s) – $5 per night

Late Check-in/out – $15 allows you to check-in as early as 11:00 and extends check out to 3 pm (when available)

Extra charges may apply for visitors, extra vehicles, additional tents and a number of other items so please feel free to tell us about your specific needs.


Cancellation Policy:
Our cancellation policy requires 72 hours notice prior to check-in time on your arrival date.

LONG WEEKENDS – 7 days cancellation notice is required.

No refunds or cancellations can be made for inclement weather and all reservations are subject to a $10.00+HST processing fee. Online booking fees are also non-refundable. Those who give less than 72 hours notice forfeit their deposit and those who do not show for their reservation owe for their entire stay.

2020 Seasonal Rates:
We are offering limited seasonal sites for the 2020 season (July 1 – Sept 7). Please email us for rates and availability.

Vehicle Policy
Only 1 vehicle per site is permitted in the park.

Unfortunately, due to the current health restrictions, no unregistered guests are allowed in the campground. We thank you for your understanding.

Gate Card
We have an electronic gate.  When you register a $20 deposit is taken for a gate card.  This money is returned to you when you return the card to us.  Having the card allows you to enter the campground at any time. We ask that you have cash for this deposit. A non-refundable fee of $1.50 will be charged for debit/credit transactions

House Rules

We strive to make all of our guests feel welcome and relaxed and we work to ensure everybody enjoys their time at Shubie Park Campground. So we’ve got a number of rules that ensure everybody has the best experience possible. Quiet time and fires out at 11:00 is an important one. We’ll let you know what our rules are when you arrive and we look forward to all our guests enjoying themselves and being good neighbours.
